Obituary

Ann Green Davis passed away on June 4, 2021, at the age of 89. She was born in Urbanna, VA and lived most of her adult life in Syringa, VA. She graduated from Middlesex High School in 1950 with friends Frances Johnston and Charles Bristow and spent fun times at the Urbanna Theater and skating rink down on the harbor.

Ann was born on November 8, 1931 to parents Robert (Bob) and Gladys Green who lived over their country store in downtown Pinetree. It was a busy place with 4 siblings and she often escaped to find quiet time at Landsdowne in Urbanna with a schoolteacher friend of her mother’s (Auntie Bessie Mae Brown). She is preceded in death by her husband Temple A. Davis, and siblings Robert, Carolyn Grinels, John, and Jessie Green and one grandchild, Jaren Davis.

Ann is survived by her three children; Terry Ann Rogers (Greg), Wallace Temple Davis (Terri) and Marshall Jerome Davis (Vicki); grandchildren, Marsha Jedlinki (John), Jennifer Davis, Megan Smith (Jamison), and Courtney Rogers; step grandchildren, Kelly Best (Stephen), and Abigail Purcell. Great grandchildren are Addison and Gavin Smith and step great grandchild Macon Best. She is also survived by special cousins Cynthia Lewis, Johnny Fleet (Cookie), Jolyn Hock, E.G. Fleet (Bea), George & Gary Rockwell, and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation (10:00) and memorial service (11:00) will be held at Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield on Tuesday, 8 June. A reception will be held immediately following at the LUMC fellowship hall.

The family would like to thank the members of the staff of the Saluda Riverside Convalescent Center for the many hours of care they provided to her in recent years. They truly do God’s work right here on earth.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lower UMC Cemetery Assoc., PO Box 212, Dutton, VA, 23050 or the Middlesex Rescue Squad, PO Box 98, Deltaville, VA, 23043.

Thinking of you all. I always loved Ann and thought she was a special lady, even as a child. She had the sweetest smile to me. Praying for comfort.
