Obituary for Charles R. "Charlie Brown" Brown

It is with great sadness that we announce that Charles Roger Brown (aka Charlie Brown) of Shacklefords, Va passed away on April 23, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyz and Lorraine Brown; and a sister, Gloria Smith. Charles is survived by his wife, Alvine of 64 years; son, Jeffery Brown (Angela) of Winchester, Va; granddaughter, Kristen Brown of Barhamsville, Va; sister, Brenda Davis of Bena, Va; step-grandson, Tyler Mawyer of Winchester, Va. Special extended family; Keith, Patricia, Thomas Williams, and a host of nieces & nephews.

Charles was born in Bena, Va on September 18, 1933. He served in the military, was a commercial fisherman and always had a love for horses. This love started his dream career of a professional cowboy and the owner of B BAR B Ranch & Saddlery for over 40 years in Glenn's, Va. If you were in the need of a horse, horse trailer, or tack he was the cowboy to call on. Charles was a lifetime member of the Virginia Cowboys Association, member of Forest Chapel United Methodist, and the NRA. He deeply loved his family and friends. Charles loved telling stories. Up to the very end he had always lived the cowboy way.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 1st at Forest Chapel United Methodist Church, 316 Forest Chapel Road, Saluda.

Arrangements by Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.
