Obituary for Denby Mason Thomas
Mr. Denby M. Thomas, 82, formerly of Middlesex County, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 7th, 2023. Born, September 2nd, 1940, in Locust Hill, VA, the son of the late Garry M. and Virginia R. Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a 1958 graduate of Middlesex County High School. He was the owner and operator of Thomas Heating and Air for many years. Upon retirement, and moving to Henrico, he drove a school bus for Henrico County School District. Denby was a Member of the New Found Church of Christ and of the “True Spirit Gospel Band”. His true passion was his love of music for the past 60 years.
He is survived by his children, Robert L. Thomas, Eddie Jones and Debbie Blake; daughter-in-law, Jan Potter; grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Kari, Christine, Nathaniel, Meredith and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives, Arvazine S. Thomas and Faye G. Thomas; a son, Denby Mason (Buddy) Thomas, Jr. and his daughter, Kathy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on April 23, 2023 at New Found Church of Christ, 14166 Gordon’s Lanes, Glen Allen, VA 23059. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda, is assisting the family.
