Obituary for JoAnn West
JoAnn West, 65, of Peary, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2019. She was born on December 11, 1953, daughter of the late William C. & Catherine M. West. She is survived by her fiancée Mike Matthews; sons, Darrell Pittman (Angela) and Joey Mandell (Nicole); brothers, Billy West and Bobby West (Betty); grandchildren, Maria, Jackson, and Kendall; nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Susie.
She was a devoted Washington Redskins fan and loved the water and the beach. She most enjoyed spending her time boating and being surrounded by her family and friends. She was a life member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Peary, Virginia.
A visitation with the family will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church, 1459 Garden Creek Road, Mathews, Virginia on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm followed by a celebration of life and fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew United Methodist Church, c/o Faye Hutchinson, 543 Potato Neck Road, Onemo, Virginia 23130 or to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 723, Mathews, Virginia 23109.
