Lawrence “Chat” Chesson passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, at Riverside Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Emmett and Eugenia Chesson, and his sister Martha Crane.
Surviving relatives include his children Christina Weaver (David), and Peyton Chesson (Zoe), multiple grandchildren: Gabe and Brooke Weaver, Christian, Bishop, and Vivienne Chesson, sister Judith Chesson, nephews Shawn Richardson (Danielle) and Hunter Murphy (Maria) and many friends in Remlik and the surrounding areas that became his second family.

Chat’s passions in life always drove him toward boats and the water. He had a lifelong history of working in the Marine industry, doing everything from boat refinishing, fiberglass repairs, mechanical work, and marina management. If it floated, Chat knew how to fix it.

It can be said, that Chat lived life on his own terms. When he wasn’t tinkering with boats or motorcycles, he could be found boating, fishing, or spending time with friends and family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
