Obituary for Leonard G. Dameron Sr.
Dameron, Leonard Grayson, 72, of Callao, VA departed this life with his family by his side on May 8, 2019. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Sylvia Deihl Dameron and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Grayson Wilbur Dameron.
He leaves behind his three children, Len Dameron and wife, Haley from Fredericksburg, VA, Stephanie Crabbe and husband, Richie from Ashland, VA, and Chad Dameron and wife, Clay from Reedville, VA; six grandchildren that loved him dearly, Gray and Nellie Kate Dameron, Bridge and Blanton Crabbe, Emma and Gracey Dameron; a brother, Tommy Dameron and wife Valerie; a sister-in-law, Dixie Deihl; an uncle, Grayson Lee Smith and wife Lois; two aunts, Ida Bromley and Ginnie Smith and a host of nieces and nephews.
Leonard commuted to Richmond, VA for 45 years and retired from Richmond City Public Schools in 2014. After retirement, he moved to Nags Head, N.C. and was able to enjoy his deep love for the beach.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 17, at Henderson United Methodist Church in Callao, VA where a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 10 AM with interment to follow at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville, VA. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, VA is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Callao Rescue Squad, 1348 Northumberland Hwy, Callao, VA 22435.
