Marjorie (“Marge”) Brown Neal, 92, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Born in Middlesex County in 1930, Marge grew up in Urbanna, Virginia and graduated from the College of William & Mary. For many years, she taught Latin at public high schools in Middlesex County, Williamsburg and Richmond. Also, she devoted twenty years of active volunteer service to the American Cancer Society. A member of the Williamsburg Baptist Church, Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Wayne Neal, of 59 years.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, William W. and Sadie S. Brown, sisters Magdalene B. Lewis and Iva B. White, and brother William W. Brown, Jr. She is survived by her niece, Maxine L. Hutchinson and grandnephews and grandnieces Edwin, Scott, Miranda and Tracy.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Home, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda, Virginia. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made in Marge’s memory to the Pitts Memorial Scholarship of Williamsburg Baptist Church, 227 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA. 23185.

Her interment will be alongside her husband in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Locust Hill, Virginia.
