Obituary for Mary Susan Busick

Mary Susan Lamberth Busick, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Mary was born in Samos, VA to Robert and Clarice Lamberth in 1933. Seven years later, her dear sister, Helen, was born. Mary graduated from Middlesex High in1951 and moved to West Point to work at the telephone company. She married Herman Lee Busick in 1952. Throughout their nearly 70 years together, they raised and enjoyed their family which includes two children, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

While Mary lavished love on her precious family, she also cared deeply for her church and community. She was raised in Hermitage Baptist Church in Church View. After settling in West Point, she joined First Baptist Church. Even though her health prevented attendance over the past several years, she held her church family close to her heart. She faithfully served in the choir, food and senior ministries. Mary was affectionately known in West Point and surrounding counties as the smiling “Avon lady” who diligently served her clients for many years.

Mary is survived by her dedicated husband, Lee and her beloved sister, Helen Hazzard. She is also survived by her children, son, Ronald, and daughter, Terry. Ronald's family includes his wife, Catherine and their children; Bradford Francis Busick, his wife Kristen and their children Owen, Eleanor and August; Brian Lamberth Busick and his wife Hannah; and Joshua Thomas Busick. Terry's family includes her husband Charles; Jason Charles Chambliss, his wife Suzanne and their children Andrew, Jacob and Lillian; and Mary Caroline Chambliss.

The family will receive friends at 10:00am on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Hermitage Baptist
Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am. Afterwards, the family will meet at the graveside to offer their final respects. Because she took such delight in her plants and gardens, those wanting to honor Mary's passing are encouraged to send flowers. Arrangements will be provided by Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel in Saluda.
