Mary Kathryn Ware McMullen passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019. She was 68 years old. Mary was born on October 12, 1950. She was a lifelong resident of Essex County, and lived at her family home on Bellevue Farm, Dunnsville VA. She attended Tappahannock High School, class of 1969. She then went to Southwood College in Salemburg, NC and Campbell College, Buies Creek, NC. Later in life, she attended Rappahannock Community College, and was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a member of Rappahannock Christian Church, Dunnsville VA, and later a member of New Hope Baptist Assembly, Tappahannock VA. Mary enjoyed life and loved being with her family, friends, and church.

She was preceded in death by her mother Jeanette Black Ware, her father, Edward Macon Ware; a brother, Teddy Ware; two sisters, Martha Ware and Lou Ware; and special friend, Bill McLean.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Newell, two grandchildren, Brooke Newell and Jeremy Newell, five great-grandchildren, Leianah Newell, Major Moye, Melody Moye, Harmony Moye, and Serenity Smith; her caregivers and special friend, Thelma Robinson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23 from 4-6:00 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, VA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ware Family Cemetery, Dunnsville, VA.
