Obituary for Matt M. Ponish
Matthew “Matt” Ponish, 68, of Dunnsville passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. He was a retired school teacher for the Essex County Public Schools, where he continued to work as an IT Specialist. He was also the organist for Church of the Visitation and St. Timothy’s Catholic Church.
Matt is survived by a devoted friend Darryl Woods of Dunnsville; two brothers, Anthony Ponish (Vicky) of State College, PA, Gregory Ponish (Cori) of Mifflinburg, PA and one sister, Monica Gavinski (Jerry) of Pittsburg, PA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 5 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock with the funeral service beginning at 5 p.m. The Reverend Gerald Kaggwa will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church of the Visitation, P O Box 38, Topping, VA 23149.
