Obituary for Miriam Ena Foote
Miriam Ena Foote, 94, of White Stone, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022.
Miriam was born in Croyden, England, and immigrated to the United States as in 18 year old war bride. She arrived at Ellis Island on the Queen Mary in February of 1946. She worked at several clerical positions in the private sector and then took correspondence courses to become an accountant. She went to work for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she eventually retired as an accounting supervisor.
Miriam enjoyed knitting, embroidery, needlepoint, and counted cross stitch, which she incorporated into hand stitched quilts. She loved to work in her flower gardens, bird watching, and especially loved her cats and dogs.
She is predeceased by her husband, Richard W. Foote and sister, Eileen Loveridge.
Miriam is survived by one son, Norman J. Foote (Carrie) and one daughter, Barbara E. Oestreich (Phillip ‘Ace’). Two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
