Obituary for Robin Morgan Sadler

Robin Morgan Sadler, 66, passed away on April 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Robin was born August 26, 1956, to the late James Russell Morgan Sr. and Rachel Crewe Morgan. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gary Wade Sadler; a son, Jason Scott Sadler; a daughter, Ashley Sadler Adams (Taylor) and a grandson, James Grayson Adams; one brother, James Russell Morgan, Jr. (Theresa), two sisters-in-law, Dinah K. Ashberry and Barbara S. Sadler, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sadler grew up in Oak Grove Christian Church, Mobjack, Va. Later, she would become an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Onemo, Va. where she was an integral part of church life for the past four decades serving in a variety of leadership capacities along with teaching Sunday School and leading the children’s message in worship services. For many years, she and her BFF, Lou Anne Diggs, served limeades at Mathews Market Days as a way to raise funds for church activities. They became known as the limeade queens.

Robin worked for eight and a half years for the Mathews County School System as a Kindergarten aide while going to school nights at Christopher Newport University. Robin obtained her B.A. in English in Early Childhood Endorsement NK-5. Upon earning her degree, she taught Kindergarten for the Gloucester County School System at Botetourt Elementary School for 20 years.

The family would like to thank home health care, hospice, doctors and their staff, and the Riverside Middle Peninsula Cancer Center in Gloucester for their loving support over the last year during her battle with cancer.

The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 29, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary following the visitation conducted by the Revs. Julie Diggs Nitzsche and Kristie Askew. Entombment will follow in Windsor Gardens Cemetery & Mausoleum, Dutton, Va. Following the entombment, a time of fellowship will be held in the social hall at Bethel.
