Obituary for Russell "Rusty" Owens
Russell Louis Owens, Jr., 60, of Howertons, departed this life on June 23, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Louis and Eunice Carter Owens, two sisters, Anne Louis Coghill and Barbara Owens.
He is survived by his wife, Renee’ Boyd Owens, son Brandon, and daughter, Britney; sisters, Phyllis Lankford (John), and Linda Johnson (Wayne); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rusty graduated in 1976 from Essex High School and VA Tech in 1980. He was a dedicated employee of Southern States Cooperative, Inc. for almost 39 years. Growing up, he was a member of Howertons Baptist Church, and in his later years, Rappahannock Church of Christ.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel in Tappahannock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Britney and Brandon Owens College Fund c/o Essex Bank, 1325 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock, VA, 22560.
