Obituary for Ruth F Owen
Ruth Marie Fenne Owen, 89, of Howertons, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. She was born on December 19, 1929 in York County, VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Owen, Sr.; parents, Eric and Mary Fenne; four brothers, Irwin, Robert, John, and Thomas Fenne; sister, Martha Fenne.
She was a retired employee of H. Warshow and Sons and worked in the quality control lab. She loved sewing, cooking, reading, and traveling.
She is survived by her children, John Robert Owen, Jr. and Mary Jo (Larry) Owen Taylor; special granddaughter, Jessica Marie Taylor; sisters, Cora Mowatt and Dorothy (Gerald) Bosher; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, VA. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Essex Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Brizendine, Rick Gillespie, Bob Fenne, Carlton Wood, Mark Scott, and Eddie Taylor. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org)
