Obituary for Vivian Ruth Vail
Vivian Ruth Vail, 98, of Hallieford, Virginia passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, December 12, 2019. She was a member of Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the Women’s Club for over 60 years. She was a creative and talented folk artist. She was also a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Edison Vail; her daughter, Rebecca Holt and daughter, Constance Hughes. She is survived by her brother, Curtis Estes; her daughter, Deborah Young (Jay); grandchildren, Michelle Holt, Connie Hudgins (Allen), Tami Castro (Lou), Amanda Tyson (Shawn), Trae Young (Ashley), Chris Hughes ( Keturah), Cory Hughes (Gaby), eight great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
We would like to thank her hospice care team for the excellent care she received.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church, Cobbs Creek, Virginia. Burial will follow the service in Haynes Cemetery.

Box 1130, Mathews, Virginia 23109 or to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, 6620 Jackson Lane, Gloucester, Virginia 23061. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia is assisting the family with the arrangements.
