Obituary for Wade Kirkwood Brooks
A Memorial service for Wade Kirkwood Brooks, 69, of Weems, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in Peniel Evangelical Friends Church, Onemo. He died Monday, Oct. 7, 2019.
He was a native of Mathews County, and was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Kirby Brooks Jr. Mr. Brooks was the owner operator of Garden Creek Woodworks and Artistic Design Studio. He graduated from Mathews High School and Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Matthews Brooks; mother, Catherine Callis Brooks; sons, Robert Matthews and John Matthews, and sister, Susan Brooks Adams.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Chesapeake Bank to cover expenses.
