Obituary for William Cornell
William “Bill” John Cornell, 86, of Tappahannock, Virginia, formerly of Fredericksburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Known by his family as “Papa”, he was a quiet man who simply enjoyed being around the ones he loved. He was a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins and loved reading the “funnies” or comics, every week in the paper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Dot Cornell.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene B. Cornell; daughter, Cindy Votano (John); son, John Cornell; sister, Donna Cornell; grandchildren, Larry (Sam), Andrea, Hailey, Matthew (Candace) and Ashleigh; great-grandchildren, Austin, Trevor, Blake, Brent, Ben, Jayna, Anna, Taylor, Stella and Brayden.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, is assisting the family with arrangements.
